Week 2: Choose What Renders
20 minutes of meditation a day, plus 5 minutes of vision board collecting
This week you go through your life one area at a time. Money, love, health, career, purpose. Each day, you get clear on what you actually want in that area, and you start collecting images for your vision board. On Day 13, you put the whole board together.
Keep Catch and Re-render running all week. It's your background app now.
Day 8: Money
Today: about 50 minutes, because you're building a new meditation
Let's start with the one most people are scared to say out loud.
A lot of us were raised to believe that wanting money is greedy, or unspiritual, or dangerous. Money is the root of all evil. Rich people are crooks. We're not those kind of people. So we say we want peace and freedom and security, but we flinch at the word money itself.
Here's how CYOM sees it. Money is energy. It's a tool. It pays for your kid's braces, your mom's surgery, the vacation you keep postponing, and the donation to the family who needs it more than you. You don't have to apologize for wanting it. You just have to be honest about it.
Wallace D. Wattles wrote a whole book on this back in 1910, called The Science of Getting Rich. His argument was that wanting a richer life is simply life wanting to express itself more fully through you. That's a very different lens than "greedy."
Build Your Week 2 Meditation
- Go to Create.
- Filter by Guided and search the Manifesting category. Add one guided track.
- Add a Music Only track and, if you'd like, a Music with Lyrics track that makes you feel good.
- Keep the total around 20 minutes. Crossfade.
- Save Mix as My Week 2 Meditation.
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Somewhere in the middle, imagine opening your banking app and seeing a number that makes you exhale. Not a lottery number. A number that would make you feel safe and free. Don't watch the number. Feel the relief in your chest when you see it.
The Felt Tip Pen Experiment (runs all week)
When I was still recovering, I decided to play with the universe using something small. I pictured a felt tip pen. I imagined writing with it, the sound it made on paper, even the smell of it. Then I let it go and forgot about it. Three days later my wife handed me a package and said, "I bought you something." It was a felt tip pen. She'd ordered it at the exact moment I was imagining it.
Your turn. Pick something small and fun that you don't currently have. A certain flower, a specific song on the radio, a free coffee, a feather, a particular color of car. Write it in your notebook. Imagine it in detail for one minute. Then let it go completely. We'll check back on Day 14.
Vision Board Collecting (5 min)
Flip through a magazine or search online for images that represent your money life. Not just cash. Think about what money gives you: a paid-off house, a full fridge, a savings account, a trip, a gift for someone you love. Cut out anything that makes your body react. Save digital images to a folder called Vision Board.
Your Journal
Would you rather have $1 million today and never a penny more, or $10,000 today and the certainty that it doubles every single year?
Then write: What did I learn about money growing up, and is it true?
Floor Day Version
Write down one number that would make you feel financially safe. Day complete.
Day 9: Love
Today: about 45 minutes
Love isn't only romance. It's the friend who answers at 2 a.m. It's your kid falling asleep on your shoulder. It's a family that laughs at dinner. It's the way you talk to yourself in the mirror. All of it counts today.
If you're single and want a partner, today is about that. If you're married and it's gotten cold, today is about that. If you're grieving someone you lost, today can be about the love that's still here, and the love that's still coming. Wherever you are, you're not behind.
Louise Hay spent her whole life teaching that love starts with the person in the mirror. If you can't receive love from yourself, it's hard to let anyone else's in.
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Put both hands on your heart. Imagine a moment of easy, relaxed love. Somebody laughing at your joke. A hand holding yours with no tension in it. Your whole family on the couch under one blanket. Let your chest warm up. That warmth is the station you're tuning to.
Vision Board Collecting (5 min)
Collect images for your love life. Couples laughing, families at the table, friends on a road trip, someone reading in peace and happy alone. Whatever love looks like for YOU, not what a movie told you it should look like.
Your Journal
Would you rather be deeply known by one person, or admired by thousands?
Then write: What does love feel like when it's easy? Describe one ordinary Tuesday evening in your ideal love life.
Floor Day Version
Put your hand on your heart and say, "I am loved." Day complete.
[Reflection]
What does love look like in your life one year from now?
Day 10: Health
Today: about 45 minutes
You know my story. A year in bed, 80 pounds gone, a puke bucket on the floor. And you know how it turned around. So you know I don't say this lightly: your body is listening to every word you say about it.
One important note before we start. Keep your doctor. Keep your medicine. This practice works alongside your care, not instead of it. What we're changing today is the story your body hears from you.
Remember from the exhaustion course: when you're depleted, aim for relief, not rapture. You don't have to feel ecstatic about your health today. Just reach for the feeling of "it's handled."
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Picture yourself one year from now, waking up. Before you open your eyes, you do a quick check of your body, the way you always used to... and there's nothing wrong. No pain to brace for. You stretch, you smile, you get up easy. Stay in that morning as long as you can.
Vision Board Collecting (5 min)
Collect images of what a healthy life looks like for you. Someone hiking, a plate of beautiful food, a person dancing, a strong body at rest, a good night's sleep. Choose images of activity and joy, not images of illness going away.
Your Journal
Describe your body on its best day, one year from now. What can you do that you can't do today? What do you eat? How do you sleep? What's the first thing you do in the morning?
Floor Day Version
Say out loud, "Thank you, body. I know you're trying." Day complete.
Day 11: Career
Today: about 45 minutes
When I was sick, the only job I could get was at a pizza joint. I didn't like it, and it didn't pay well. But while I was there, I kept picturing a very different job: creating something cool in the trading world, like I used to. I didn't know how I'd get there. I just knew what it felt like to already be there. (You'll hear how that one turned out on Day 17.)
Career isn't just a paycheck. It's where you spend most of your waking hours. If you dread Monday, you're spending most of your life in a place you'd rather not be. Today you get to design a different place.
Napoleon Hill put it in one line back in 1937: "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Picture a Sunday night. Monday is coming, and you feel... fine. Maybe even excited. What are you doing tomorrow? Who are you working with? What does your workspace look like? Feel the absence of that Sunday night dread.
Vision Board Collecting (5 min)
Collect images for your work life. An office with a view, a laptop on a beach, a shop with your name on it, a team laughing, a paycheck, a stage. Pick what makes you excited to wake up.
Your Journal
Would you rather do work you love for modest pay, or work you tolerate for great pay? Why?
Then write: If money weren't a factor at all, what would I do all day?
Floor Day Version
Write down one word that describes how you want to feel at work. Day complete.
Day 12: Purpose
Today: about 45 minutes
Purpose is the big one. It's the "why" underneath the money, the love, the health, and the career. It's the answer to the question, "What am I here for?"
Most people think purpose has to be huge. Curing a disease, starting a movement, writing a bestseller. Sometimes it is. But sometimes purpose is being the person your grandkids run to. Sometimes it's making people laugh. Sometimes it's showing up for your community, or making beautiful things, or being living proof for someone who needs to see it.
I didn't find my purpose until after I came out the other side of being sick. Now my whole life is about helping people learn what I learned. Your hardest season might be pointing straight at yours.
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Imagine you're 90 years old, sitting on a porch. Somebody asks you, "What was your life about?" Don't plan an answer. Let it rise up on its own.
Vision Board Collecting (5 min)
Collect images that represent your purpose. A crowd you're speaking to, kids you're helping, a garden you're growing, a book with your name on it, a hand reaching down to help someone up.
Your Journal
This is the fourth question from our custom meditation form:
Is there anything you're ready to release? And anything you want to call into your life?
Write two lists side by side. Releasing on the left. Calling In on the right.
Floor Day Version
Finish this sentence in your notebook: "I am here to..." Day complete.
[Reflection]
If your life had a one-sentence purpose, what would it be?
Day 13: Build the Board
Today: about 75 minutes, because today you build
Years ago, I made a vision board when we had almost no money. One of the pictures on it was a dream home with a Spanish tiled roof on a cobblestone street. It seemed ridiculous at the time. We were broke. I was still sick.
As I write this, I'm sitting in our home in Spain. Spanish tiled roof. Cobblestone street. We can see the Alhambra castle from our rooftop terrace. The picture on that board didn't make it happen by magic. It aimed my focus, every single day, for years, until my life caught up to it.
Steve Harvey slept in his car for three years before he became a household name. He still keeps his vision board with him, and he's said that if you can see it and write it down, it can become a reality.
Today you build yours. Two of them.
[Audio Player: "Law of Attraction Affirmations"]
Play this while you build.
The Feeling Test
Before anything goes on your board, hold it and ask: Does my body react? A smile, a lump in your throat, a little jump in your chest. If yes, it goes on. If you just think "that's nice," it doesn't. Your board should be full of things that make you feel something, not things you think you should want.
Your Physical Board
- Lay out everything you collected this week.
- Run every image through the feeling test. Be ruthless.
- Divide your board into five loose sections: Money, Love, Health, Career, Purpose.
- Put a photo of yourself, smiling, right in the center.
- Add words or phrases in the present tense. "Paid in full." "Madly in love." "Strong and healthy."
- Hang it where you'll see it first thing every morning. Next to your bed or on your bathroom mirror is perfect.
Your Digital Board
- Go to canva.com and log in.
- Click Create a design and search for Desktop Wallpaper.
- Upload the images from your Vision Board folder and arrange them the same way as your physical board.
- Click Share, then Download, and save it as a PNG.
- Set it as your computer's wallpaper. On Windows, right-click the image file and choose Set as desktop background. On a Mac, open System Settings, click Wallpaper, and add your image.
Want one for your phone too? Do the same thing using Canva's Phone Wallpaper size, and set it as your lock screen.
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation sitting in front of your finished board. For the first minute, look at it with your eyes open. Then close your eyes and let the images play in your mind. If you can't see pictures, that's perfectly fine. Feel them instead.
Your Journal
Which image made my body react the most, and why?
Floor Day Version
Put one image on your wall. Just one. Build the rest another day. Day complete.
Day 14: Script a Day
Today: about 50 minutes
Two weeks down! You've caught your thoughts, looked honestly at your life, and built a board full of everything you're calling in. Today you write the movie.
Scripting is simple. You write about your future life as if it's already happened, in present tense, with ordinary details. The trick is the ordinary part. Anyone can write "I'm rich and happy." But a real day has coffee, traffic, a text from your sister, and a dog that needs walking. Ordinary details are what make your brain believe it.
Your Journal
Write one ordinary day in your new life, from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep. Present tense. At least one full page. Include what you eat, who you talk to, what you're wearing, what the weather's like, and at least one small thing that makes you laugh.
Don't write a fantasy. Write a Tuesday. A really, really good Tuesday.
Today's Meditation (20 min)
Play My Week 2 Meditation. Replay your scripted day in your mind like you're remembering it, not imagining it. Remember is the key word. Memories feel like they already happened. That's the feeling we're after.
The Felt Tip Pen Check-In
Remember the small thing you picked on Day 8? Did it show up? Write what happened. If it did, write how it arrived and how it felt. If it didn't yet, that's fine. Keep it in the back of your mind and let it keep coming. Some of mine took three days. Some took months.
On CYOM
Go to Create, open My Week 2 Meditation, and share it to the Circle (+3 XP). Someone else in this program might need exactly the blend you built.
Floor Day Version
Write three sentences about tomorrow morning in your new life. Day complete.
[Reflection]
What's one ordinary detail from your scripted day that made you smile?
Coming Up in Week 3
Your meditation grows to 30 minutes, and you stop just imagining the new you. You start becoming them.
