Week 2: Choose What Renders
Week 2: Choose What Renders
This week, your meditation grows to 20 minutes a day, and you'll spend another few minutes collecting images for your vision board, etc... Plan on roughly an hour a day.
This week you go through your life one area at a time. Money, love, health, career, and purpose. Each day, you get clear on what you actually want in that area, and you start collecting images for your vision board. On Day 13, you put the whole board together.
Keep Catch and Re-render running all week. Tally them up. It's your background app now and should be on automatic.
Day 8: Money
Today you will spend about 50+ minutes, because you're building a brand new 20-minute meditation.
Let's start with the one most people are scared to say out loud.
A lot of us were raised to believe that wanting money was greedy or selfish. You might have heard one or more of these phrases, more than once during your childhood.
- Money is the root of all evil.
- Rich people are crooks. Nobody gets that kind of money honestly.
- We're not those kind of people.
- Money doesn't grow on trees, you know.
- Do you think I'm made of money?
- Must be nice. Some of us have to work for a living.
- It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
- Money can't buy happiness.
- We may be poor, but at least we're honest.
- Don't get too big for your britches.
So we say we want peace, freedom and security, but we flinch at the word 'money' itself. When we think of being rich, our mind blocks it immediately.
Here's how CYOM sees it. Money is simply energy. It's a tool. It pays for your kid's braces, your mom's surgery, the vacation you keep postponing, and the donation to the family who needs it more than you. You don't have to apologize for wanting it. You just have to be honest about it.
Wallace D. Wattles wrote a whole book on this back in 1910, called The Science of Getting Rich. His argument was that wanting a richer life is simply life wanting to express itself more fully through you. That's a very different lens than "greedy."
I encourage you to watch this. It will take some time but it may open your mind even more.
Build Your Week 2 Meditation:
- Go to Create.
- Filter by Guided and search the Manifesting category. Add one guided track.
- Add a Music Only track and, if you'd like, a Music with Lyrics track that makes you feel good.
- Keep the total around 20 minutes.
- Crossfade.
- Save Mix as My Week 2 Meditation or whatever you like.
Here is an example meditation.
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation. Somewhere in the middle, imagine opening your banking app and seeing a number that makes you feel as if a weight has lifted... Not a lottery number but a number that would make you feel safe and free. Don't create or watch the number. Just allow it to appear. What number would make you feel at ease? Feel the relief in your chest when you see it.
The Felt Tip Pen Experiment (runs all week):
When I was still recovering from an unknown disease, I decided to play with the universe using something small. I pictured a felt tip pen in my mind. I imagined writing with it, how it felt in my hand, the way the tip of the pen felt on the paper, the sound it made while I was writing, even the smell of it. Then I let it go and forgot about it. Three days later my wife handed me a package and said, "I bought you something." It was this felt tip pen, pictured below. She'd ordered it at the exact moment I was imagining it.
Your turn. Pick something small and fun that you don't currently have. Maybe:
- A certain flower
- A specific song on the radio
- A free coffee from a stranger
- A feather
- or even a felt tip pen
Write it in your notebook. Imagine it in vivid detail for about five minutes. Then let it go completely. We'll check back on Day 14 to see if there is any progress. The main point is that you have to imagine it, feel what it feels like to have it. Make it real, then let it go and know that it's done.
Your Vision Board Collection Project (Financial Abundance):
Right now, you are just collecting. You are not actually placing them on the board yet. So start flipping through a magazines or search online for images that represent where you want to be financially. Think about what money gives you, like a paid-off house, a full fridge, a savings account, a trip, being able to give money to someone in need, a gift for someone you love, or whatever financial abundance means for you. Cut out anything that makes you react in a positive way, whether mentally or physically. Save the images because we will use them later in the week. If your images are digital, save them to a folder you can access later.
Write in Your Journal:
Would you rather have $1 million today and never a penny more, or $10,000 today and the certainty that it doubles every single year? and why?
Then write: What did I learn about money growing up, and is it true? How do you feel about money?
Day 8: The Floor Day Version
Write down one number that would make you feel financially safe, hold it in your mind, and say, "It's done." Your day is complete.
Day 9: Love
Today you will spend about 45 minutes calling more love into your life!
Love isn't only romance. It's the friend who answers at 2 a.m. It's your kid falling asleep on your shoulder. It's a family that laughs at dinner. It's the way you talk to yourself in the mirror. All of it counts today.
If you're single and want a partner, today is about that. If you're married and it's gotten cold, today is about that too. If you're grieving someone you lost, today can be about the love that's still here, and the love that's coming.
Louise Hay spent her whole life teaching that love starts with the person in the mirror. If you can't receive love from yourself, it's hard to let anyone else's in.
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation. Put both hands on your heart. Imagine a moment of easy, relaxed love. Think about somebody laughing at your joke, a hand holding yours with no tension in it, maybe your whole family on the couch under one blanket and laughing at a comedy movie. Whatever your image is, let your chest warm up. That warmth is the frequency you're tuning to.
Your Vision Board Collection Project (A Love Filled Life):
Collect images for your love life. Couples laughing, families at the table, friends on a road trip, and maybe even romantic or passionate pictures. Choose whatever love looks like for YOU, not just what a movie told you it should look like. Think about the pictures are you collect them. If they make you smile, keep them.
Write in Your Journal:
What does love feel like when it's easy? Whether friendly love or romantic love, describe, in vivid detail, one ordinary Tuesday evening in your ideal love life.
Day 9: The Floor Day Version
Put your hand on your heart and say, "I am loved." Your day is complete.

Day 10: Health
Today you will spend about 45 minutes talking to your body in a brand new way.
My health journey includes a year in bed, 80 pounds gone, a puke bucket on the floor. And, if you have completed other courses here, you know how it turned around. So you know I don't say this lightly...
Your body is listening to every word you say about it.
One important note before we start. Keep your doctor. Keep your medicine. This practice works alongside your care, not instead of it. What we're changing today is the story your body hears from you.
Remember from the exhaustion course... When you're depleted, aim for relief, not rapture. You don't have to feel ecstatic about your health today. Just reach for the feeling of "it's handled."
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation. Picture yourself one year from now, waking up. Before you open your eyes, you do a quick check of your body, the way you always used to... and there's nothing wrong. No pain to brace for. You stretch, you smile, you get up easy. Stay in that morning as long as you can! Smile and feel it. Remember, you gotta feel the emotion of it as if it's real because in some reality, it is. You are trying to align with that frequency.
Your Vision Board Collection Project (Health Happiness):
Collect images of what a healthy life looks like for you. This could be pictures of someone hiking, a plate of beautiful food, a person dancing, a strong body at rest, a good night's sleep. Be sure to choose images of the way you want your life to be, like activity and joy. Don't pick images of illness going away.
Write in Your Journal:
Describe your body on its best day, one year from now. What can you do that you can't do today? What do you eat with your new body? Describe how perfectly you sleep. What's the first thing you do in the morning? Tell yourself how amazing you are! Get happy about feeling so good!
Day 10: The Floor Day Version
Say out loud, "Thank you, body. I am healed!" Your day is complete.
Day 11: Career
Today you will spend about 45 minutes designing a work life you actually look forward to.
When I was sick, the only job I could get was at a pizza joint. I didn't like it, and it didn't pay well. But while I was there, I kept picturing a very different job. I kept creating my dream life in my mind and didn't know how I'd get there. I just knew what it felt like to already be there. (You'll hear how that one turned out on Day 17.)
A career isn't just a paycheck. It's where you spend most of your waking hours and if you dread Monday, you're spending most of your life in a place you'd rather not be. Today you get to design a different place - a place that you love going to!
Napoleon Hill said it best back in 1937, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation and picture a Sunday night. Monday morning is coming, and you feel... excited! You are excited about what you will be dong tomorrow! You love who you are working with. What does your workspace look like? Feel the absence of that Sunday night dread and the exhilaration of doing something you love and getting paid for it!
Your Vision Board Collection Project (Your Career):
Collect images for your dream work life. An office with a view, a laptop on a beach, a shop with your name on it, a team laughing, a big paycheck, a stage filled with a huge audience... Whatever your vision is, pick what makes you excited to wake up. Choose something that fulfills you!
Write in Your Journal:
Would you rather go to a job that you LOOOVE but for modest pay, or work at a dreadful job you hate but for lots of money? Why? If money weren't a factor at all, what would you do all day?
Day 11: The Floor Day Version
Write down one word that describes how you want to feel at work. Ponder on it for a few minutes and smile! As soon as you can feel it, your day is complete.
Day 12: Purpose
Defining your Life Purpose is the big one. It's the "why" underneath the money, the love, the health, and the career. It's the answer to the question, "What am I here for?"
You might think purpose has to be something huge like curing a disease, starting a movement, writing a bestseller. Sometimes it is. But more often than not, purpose is being the person your grandkids run to. It's making people laugh. It's showing up for your community, or making beautiful things, or being living proof for someone who needs to see it. Your purpose doesn't mean that you will be in the history books or famous.
If you don't know your purpose, I didn't find my purpose until after I came out the other side of being sick. Now my whole life is about helping people learn what I learned. Your hardest season might be pointing straight at yours.
Three loose rules that helped me find my own purpose was from a controversial public figure, Darryl Anka, the spiritual medium:
- At any given moment, choose the option that offers the most curiosity, passion, or excitement from those currently available to you, rather than waiting for a perfect plan or major life change.
- Take immediate, concrete action using the resources, time, and energy you have right now, no matter how small the step may seem.
- Release attachment to how things must unfold, allowing your higher self to guide you toward results that may differ from your physical mind’s expectations.
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation. Imagine you're 90 years old, sitting on a porch. Somebody asks you, "What was your life about?" Don't plan an answer. Let it rise up on its own.
Your Vision Board Collection Project (Your Purpose in Life):
Collect images that represent your life purpose. Maybe this is a crowd you're speaking to, kids you're helping, a garden you're growing, a book with your name on it, a hand reaching down to help someone up. If you don't yet know your purpose, think on the 3 loose rules above and collect pictures that give these feelings to you.
Write in Your Journal:
What would I spend my life doing if money, fear, and other people’s opinions didn't matter? What makes me feel most alive? What do people naturally come to me for help with? What problem in the world do I feel strongly pulled to help solve?
Day 12: The Floor Day Version
Finish this sentence in your notebook: "I am here to..." Your day is complete.
Day 13: Make your Vision Board Unique
Years ago, I made a vision board when I was sick and dying, when we had no money. When it was the hardest, I create the board and one of the pictures on it was a dream home with a Spanish tiled roof on a cobblestone street. It seemed ridiculous at the time. It seemed absurd but we did it anyway.
As I write this years later, I'm sitting in our home in the south of Spain. Spanish tiled roof. Cobblestone street. We can see the Alhambra castle from our rooftop terrace. My body is healed.
The question some people ask themselves when things like this happen is... "How does a picture on a board manifest things like magic?" My answer to that is, "It's not your job to know how everything in the universe works. It's just your job to do it, feel the emotion of it, and have faith."
Vision boards will aim your focus until your life catches up with your dream! Here's my view from the rooftop terrace, below.
Steve Harvey slept in his car for three years before he became a household name. He still keeps his vision board with him, and he's said that if you can see it and write it down, it can become a reality. I believe that 100%.
"Vision Boards don't need tobe something you place ont he wall. You are welcome to get creative! For instance, before Jim Carrey was rich and famous, he wrote himself a $10 million check for “acting services rendered,” dated it for Thanksgiving 1995, and carried it as a visualization of his future success. By the mid-1990s, his film career had exploded, and he was reportedly earning around that amount for major roles.
Today I want you to build yours. In fact, build two of them and make them the best wonders of your house! You want it to be an every day part of your life. While you are building, get inspired. Play some of your favorite music. You can even listen to this track while you build them.
The Feeling Test:
Take out your board and gather all the pictures you have been collecting. When you look at each picture, really think about each one and ask yourself, "How does my body react when I look at this picture?" Do you have a smile or a little jump in your chest? Does the picture make you have positive emotions? If yes, it goes on the board. If you just think "that's a nice picture," it doesn't.
Your board should be full of things that make you feel something strong and happy.
Your Physical Board:
- Lay out everything you collected this week.
- Run every image through the feeling test. Be ruthless. You are designing your future here.
- Divide your board into five loose sections: Money, Love, Health, Career, Purpose.
- Put a photo of yourself, smiling, right in the center.
- Add words or phrases in the present tense. "Paid in full." "Madly in love." "Strong and healthy."
- Hang it where you'll see it first thing every morning. Next to your bed or on your bathroom mirror is perfect.
Your Digital Board:
- Go to somewhere like canva.com and log in.
- Click Create a design and search for Desktop Wallpaper.
- Upload the images from your Vision Board folder and arrange them the same way as your physical board.
- Click Share, then Download, and save it as a PNG.
- Set it as your computer's wallpaper. On Windows, right-click the image file and choose Set as desktop background. On a Mac, open System Settings, click Wallpaper, and add your image.
Want one for your phone too? Do the same thing using Canva's Phone Wallpaper size, and set it as your lock screen.
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation sitting in front of your finished board. For the first minute, look at it with your eyes open. Then close your eyes and let the images play in your mind. If you can't see pictures, that's perfectly fine. Feel them instead. The important part is to feel it as if it has already happened. Feel it in the present moment.
Write in Your Journal:
Which image made my body react the most, and why? What emotion did I feel?
Day 13: The Floor Day Version
Put one image on your wall. Just one. Build the rest another day. Your day is complete.
Day 14: Script your Perfect Day
Two weeks down! You've caught your thoughts, looked honestly at your life, and built a board full of everything you're calling in. Today you write the movie.
Scripting is simple. You write about your future life as if it's already happened, in present tense, with ordinary details. The trick is the ordinary part. Anyone can write "I'm rich and happy." But a real day has coffee, traffic, a text from your sister, and a dog that needs walking. Ordinary details are what make your brain believe it.
Write in Your Journal:
Write one ordinary day in your new life, from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep. Present tense. At least one full page. Include what you eat, who you talk to, what you're wearing, what the weather's like, and at least one small thing that makes you laugh.
Don't write a fantasy. Write a Tuesday. A really, really great Tuesday.
Today's Meditation (20 min):
Play your Week 2 Meditation. Replay your scripted day in your mind like you're remembering it, not imagining it. Remember is the key word. Memories feel like they already happened. That's the feeling we're after.
The Felt Tip Pen Check-In:
Remember the small thing you picked on Day 8? Did it show up? Write what happened. If it did, write how it arrived and how it felt. If it didn't yet, that's fine. Keep it in the back of your mind and let it keep coming. Some of mine took two days. Some took 2 months and some took 2 years.
Day 14: The Floor Day Version
Write three sentences about tomorrow morning in your new life. Your day is complete.
Coming Up in Week 3:
Your meditation grows to 30 minutes, and you stop just imagining the new you. You start becoming them.
